Janitors are responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness within buildings such as offices, schools, hospitals, and other commercial or residential facilities[1]. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle shifting schedules, including nights and weekends[1].
  • Knowledge of different cleaning tools, supplies, and their appropriate uses[8].
  • Ability to lift at least 25–50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for prolonged periods[3].
